GOOD MEMORIES! I read this allegory for the first time at Governor's School 2000...anyone else go? :D :D :D Anyway, we had great discussion about it. The drama students performed it and we (the art students) collaborated with them for a performance art piece for all the other students to enjoy. I think this has so much potential for teachers to use in their classroom...integration of so many subjects, critical thinking, analysis, performance...

I believe using the arts is powerful and for some of us....critical to our learning. Your description of what you did in your collaboration is eactly waht I want to happen in public schools. Imagine!

An expressive arts student,

Rebekah

I agree with both of you. Teachers need to make lessons fun for students. I believe the more interesting the lesson the more the students will gleem from it. We need to use the arts, plays, skits, etc to teach and the more the integrate subjects the better.
