Ashley, I am with you! I really don't understand how schools are using IQ testing. I know that I took two tests, one before Kindergarten and one while I was in sixth grade, but i have no idea what my score was or what the school did with them. In the article, he talks about "mental age." I really don't understand that either, but i have often heard it used to descibe the mental abilitys of people in the special needs classes. When I was in middle school my teacher warned me not to talk to one of the students becasue he would not understand me becasue he "had the mind of a three year old." Also, I was wondering if anyone knows the average IQ?
I hope schools are not relying only upon one test to decide the fate of a child.

question~ do you think that its a good idea that they dont tell you the scores of your IQ test, or do you think that its a bad thing. I think that once you get a certain age you have the right to know.. For me i just want to know because i think that it would be interesting. It wouldnt change how i feel about myself though.
