I had a friend in school who committed suicide and he never ever ever seemed like someone who would do this?!! I never saw any signs of this happening and i don't think anyone else did either? How do you know when someone needs help?! What are somethings you can do in your everyday teaching that lets every child know that you are there to help him/her and that you are there for them whenever they need you...you are not JUST their teacher??!

Betsy:
I don't know what other people think, but my personal sense of this is I really need to take a deep breath, and look at each person in front of me. When I do this, and don't immediately move on to my "agenda", I sometimes see things that are really important that I would have missed without that deep breath.

Thanks again Ms. Turner. You have really helped me out in seeing a lot of different ways and effects teaching has on sooo many lives. Taking a second to breath is something that needs to be done often! I really do appreciate everything we have talked about this semester!
