Why are a great deal of teachers moving on to different fields? I feel like the system is putting too much work on teachers. We are stressed about testing, piles and piles of paperwork (including IEP's), car duties, lunchroom dutes, etc. When do we have time to teach and plan our lessons. People that think teachers have it made getting out of school at 3:00 or 3:30 and having summers off would change their minds if they had to walk in our shoes for a while. Emphasis needs to be placed on learning for both students and teachers and we need a support system for our teacher. I know all the duties are necessary but we need to find a better way to go about it. We are losing many, many good teachers and our children are the ones who suffer.
