In reference to the "Moral Outrage " article(p251). The author says key elements of transformation are to reject individualism, competetion, materialism, and acquisition.
Excuse me, but this sounds like Communism......
Let's face it why teach children their unique individuals, or encourage sports, or even promote college for a better life if this is the way transformation is going. I think individualism is important. I also believe why earn money if you can't spend it for "material items." Finally in regards to competetion, I think sports are good for children. I would rather see my students doing lots of different things in their spare time which engulfs both physical and mental activities.
What do you think?
