I thought that the article about the soccer ball experiment was a good one. I often look at where something was made just out of curiosity, but after reading that article, I have found myself wondering about the people that made my shirt or pants, and what their lives are like living where they do. The article was very true in the fact that more expensive items are made in the British Isles and the cheaper ones are made in the Middle Eastern regions. Even though this is true and stereotypical, it's also really sad. I hate that the governments of those countries don't do anything to stop Nike from coming in there and making children work for $.05 an hour. Also, more and more companies from the United States are moving overseas (mainly to China) because it's "cheaper." Cheaper in the sense that the companies don't have to pay workers that much. What happens or is going to happen to the families that make our footballs, soccer balls, and tennis shoes? Are child labor laws not going to be enforced? You just have to wonder sometime.
