Labeling people no matter what your race, color, religion or anything, is crazy. It's a waste of time to label people, sometimes you have to think longer of how to classify them then actually doing something constructive. Why are these black people getting labeled? They are no different from you and me except are skin color. I knew white kids in high school that caused more problems than black people did. Do they get labeled like the blacks do? It's just crazy, a person is a person no matter what. The only labels i would ever want to have are daughter, teacher, wife, and mother.

I agree with you, but those labels were created right when slavery was coming to an end. They didn't have anything better to do than sit there and come up with different labels. Basically, people were just pissed off because slavery was ending, so they wanted to make African Americans feel worthless so they would feel better. It's a stupid concept, but it worked for them.

I to am againest labeling any one due to etnic background. It is a complete waste of time. As far as my future class is concidered the only labels I will use are that of teacher and student. Why should a childs descrption be necessary anyway?

i agree with you, but that is how our society is. we label stuff to know what we are talking about. it stems from what your wearing, to biology, to race. our society is based on labels so that we know what we are talking about.
