Negative body image is something that many female and male atheltes suffer from. This is a little surprising because it seems like athletes would suffer less from this pressure than people who did not play sports did. They are in better shape and can see the funtionality of their bodies. Their bodies are also much more on display when engaged in sports however. What do you think about this? What sports do you think that this issue is worse in?

One sport I can think of right off hand is gymnastics. Especially women gymnast. If they aren't little, they can't do their sport at all. Just a thought, I'll think about this and maybe reply again later w/ more input!

A couple of sports come in mind to where people may be concerned with body image. Gymnastics for sure, wrestling and swimming for others, for example your wearing spandex which is very form fitting, and normally your small in number of people that are being looked at. You fell like your body is on display like an exhibit at an art gallery and you want to be seen as attractive to all who see you.
