I was browsing on the web, when I came upon an article that dealt with women lacking iron. I related to this article, because I was iron-deficient in middle school. I actually passed out in health class one day, because I was not getting the iron that my body needed. I, on the other hand, had no clue why I kept passing out. I was even passing out in the mornings before I would go to school. I didn't tell my parents for the longest time, but once I did, they took me to the doctor to find out what was wrong with me.
I thought the article would be beneficial and a good read -- just in case anyone has female students who may be suffering from the lack of iron. The women who suffer from lack of iron, also have trouble concentrating. Younger women are at a risk for low iron because of their diet, their bodies also absorb less iron than men and lose it more b/c of blood loss during menstruation.
