Does any have thoughts about the trend of our nation going to a service based economy. With the regularity of manufacturing plants seeking lower labor costs and less enviromental restrictions overseas, Manufacturing is becoming less of a factor in the nations economy. My concern if we as a nation are not building anything, where will the money come from to pay for the increasing services?

I can't speak for others, but I will be building and developing young minds. The background they receive in Technology Education will help them to become more informed about the world inwhich they live. The development of new technology and the new uses for existing technology, I hope will open their eyes to a world of possibilities and not just something for personal gain. Of course, someone will have to be working to pay the taxes necessary to support education. I guess we had better start paying teachers very well, they may be the only people working in the US.

I am not sure what our country is thinking in terms of its ecconomical status in the world. Some theorists believe were are going throuh a technological revolution and that our society will be solely based on the exchange of tech. and information. We are on very thin ice if you ask me.
