Isn't it curious how so many of the discussion have either started out with a religious undertone (or overture) or have developed one as a central part of the reasoning?

Yes, I have noticed that too. I wonder what that implies about our class.

Religion and morally based discussions must be hard to avoid. I suspect many discussions people have involve what they consider right or wrong, which is usually based on a religion.

We live in a country that was formed based on religious freedom...specifically for Christians to worship as they wanted. So, our society has been molded around this concept...each American has his or her own view of what the concept of "religious freedom" means.

From experience, as long as a public school teacher is approach the issues of religion and morality in terms of philosophy, there is not much question--at least in the Bible Belt--about proselytizing, neither are there major arguments about Separation of Church and State.
Or, Dan, were you mainly making an observation that some of our FDN 3800 discussions touched on religion and morality?
