Since many of you won't read this till after our class tonight - this is my question:
How did the readings and our classroom discussion better prepare you to approach sexual identity in your classroom?
Has any of your initial thoughts changed drastically?
How will you be supportive in this area of your students?
- i'm excited about what my answers will be after tonight too.

I think that what we learned in class as brought to light a lot of things that are very much overlooked. I feel better about teaching transgender students simply because of the fact that I have been informed a little bit about them. Things such as 'not all transgendered people are pre-op or post-op' and 'not all students have a clear idea of what gender they are' have gotten me to think about how I will approach these subjects in a classroom setting.
