Whew! I sure am glad Dr. Turner warned us about him! I'd be a drinking man if I had to read this stuff for a living! I'm not sure that 'pompous' is the right word for him and, I think that he has some valid points but I've had to do alot of rephrasing with these paragraphs!

Ah, philosophy, the field where intelligent arguing reigns. No mere "he said" "she said" here. It's more like "he pontificated" and "she further elaborated".

As my eyes crossed and re crossed during the reading, I'm not sure that I am correct, but I think that the main argument of the article was a discussion on "truth", both how it is viewed in philosophy and in different cultures. Not to mention it's relative importance. Once again, don't quote me on that especially the word relative. I probably misused it.

I have to admit that the "pontificating" is leaving me perplexed. I am looking forward to Dr. Turner’s "elaboration" tomorrow to help end the perplexity. :?

This was a challenging read for me too. I agree with Paula that one of the main points was a discussion of "truth." Elizabeth

I am still trying to interpret what his point is. I am looking forward to a discussion on this. BMS

The class discussion did help a lot. With class notes and a dictionary I might be able to translate now. But boy do I miss Dr. Suess.

I agree Paula, the discussion did help. I also am excited to know that there is a "t"ruth. It seems that we get too caught up on "T"ruth and are very closed minded towards other people and circumstances in our society.

The class discussion helped me a lot. I shared with my mentor the following day "truth" vs. "Truth." Elizabeth
