Should congress raise minimum wage,

The last sentence of this article bothered me. "It corrects an imbalance of power and raises the living standards of working families. Im really not positive about imbalance of power refers to. When I think of wages and power of course I think of politicians and taxes. The last part about improving living standards; of course they would be better they will get more money. The problem is minimum wage doesn't match the inflation that has taken place in the past 30 years. As far as that goes normal raises of any job especially teachers doesn't take this in consideration.

Brent,
As we discussed in class, the minimum wage is a number that was basically picked out of the air years ago. I think that wage is only one thing to take in consideration. Work is important to life. People need to work whether that be for minimum wage or for a 7 digit salary. We always equate work with how much it pays. I think the more important point is that one works. If one is doing a decent day's work, that person is a decent human.
