With every class I wander how the topic will help me/us as administrators. Poisonwood Bible, after discussion brouht out a couple of things but mostly I thought how do I deal with these people if they were in my school.

Of course you would have to handle each person on an individual bases as they presented themselves. We can all think of parents or students that would fit the profile of each of the characters from the Poisonwood Bible, but the two that stand out the most are the dad and mother. The dad will be that parent who tries to bully you around to get what he wants at your school. The mother will be the parent who is timid and perhaps not involved enough with her child’s education. You as the principal will have to decide the best course of action.

That's interesting that you said that Andy. I would think that the dad would be the one you wouldn't have to worry about because he would be too interested in his own thing. However, the mother seems to be the type that would be timid, but would stand up for her children.
I guess we have to consider our perceptions of people as much as the people themselves.
