Post subject: | Gender Stereotypes |
In my CI 3850 we just completed our Media Literacy projects. My group did their project on gender stereotypes found in cartoons that children in third or fourth grade would watch. To kind of feed off of Katie's question..... I was wondering if anyone sees these types of gender stereotypes as being a problem in society and how much you think these stereotypes and the media effects children? Do you think cartoons can change the way a child views boys and girls? (For example, when a child watches Batman they automatically assume that male characteristics are things like being strong, muscular, powerful, etc.) |
