it seemed appropriate to bring this up again after discussing it for the first few minutes of class yesterday...
getting ready for class this morning, i turned on my tv to see a scene of iraqi people and a military tank surrounding a statue of saddam surrounded by pillars representing the years he's been in control. and within minutes, a rope was strung around the statue and it was torn down! people celebrating and jumping on the remainders of the statue on the ground, and iraqi flags be waved in the air.
this scene serves as a powerful message to people all over the world. did anyone else see it? what do you think?

You're right Molly, that was a poweful messae to the workd as well as back to America. I especially liked the scene where the Iraqi man rode Saddam's head down the street, as the tank dragged it. Those images of laughter and joyous celebration should sjow protestors that we have been able to do some good by invading Iraq. It'll will be interesting to see what happens to Iraq after Saddam's regime has fallen. Any thoughts?
