In the text for Tuesday, "What's Worth Knowing," the authors talked about getting on the level of the student and thinking from their point of view. Of course, I totally understand the importance of this. However, this led me to think about how far should you go to get on the students' level? Where do you draw the line between teacher and friend? This is a problem I faced working at a daycare for the past two summers, and I still haven't really found an answer to. How do you know when you should get closer to their level and when you need to simply think from the teacher's point of view? Do y'all even think that you can go to far to get on their level?
