I may be pretty naive, but I had no idea that racism was ever so incredibly... overt. I realize people viewed themselves as superior other races, but for some reason I never imagined someone like Gobineau. He basically came up with all of this fictitious "science" to say that simply by being born white, he was better (and always would be) than other races could even hope to be. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt as far as differences in society at different times, but this guy really seems like an ass. Did other people feel the same way after reading "Ghosts of Bell Curves Past" or did I miss out on something?
