I think one of the most obvious themes in this book is learning to accept new cultures and allowing htem to be a part of your school. I think as administrators we need to work hard to make everyone feel accepted, regardless of their culture and beliefs. We need to make students and teachers aware of the different cultures present at our school so that we can celebrate each and every one of them. I think a great multi-cultural day would be a great way to go about doing that.

With the winter olympics coming up I know of several schools who are planning multicultural events to coincide witht he games. This is a great way to introduce kids to diffetent cultures.
