After reading this article I got to thinking about two different schools I went to, and how even though they were only about 30 miles apart, there was such a big difference in tolerance of people who are gay. At the city highschool I went to, there was an openly gay community. The highschool I went to was diverse in so many ways, so I think people were more accepting of others in general. The county school I went to was completly different. The school was basically all white and in the country. I had heard some people from there talking about a lesbian and said that if she wanted to be a dude than she was going to have to fight like a dude. |
