Hi ladies,
I try to be accurate - but gave you some incorrect information. The book Ken had read that helped him so much is
Be Here Now written by Ram Dass. (I've read it too - it is a wonderful book - and one that I revisit from time to time.) I had said that Ram Dass was dismissed from MIT. Actually he was dismissed from Harvard. Just a side note - he received his doctorate from Stanford (Gayle's alma mater) and taught there before going to Harvard. He has written at least one book dealing with education issues. If anyone is interested, here's a website with a brief bio.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to tell Ken's story. I talked to Ken last night. Amazingly, his response was this - "My experiences have given me many advantages. Many times we think we know what something is like. But I know and know it deeply because I lived it. In many respects, the events saved my life."
