Wow! I can't imagine such a concept! I wonder how many people are out there that have degrees from UC from this period of time? As spoken about Yale and Harvard (during the time of $ and family lineage), then, too, UC, during that time, do these persons have degrees that hold much merit? I know, many of these graduates are either retired or have passed on by now, but I wonder if employers scrutinized their resume for the year of graduation as a means for qualifications?
As good as it sounds, I understand why college ed can't be free to everyone who would just like to go for the heck of it. What a waste of $ it must have been to teach the Freshman class for many of them to just drop out becasue they couldn't hack it.
