I thought that comment about skipping the middle man with regard to religion was interesting. He said "just look outside, skip the middle man. That will tell you more about God. Do you think people were trying to serve each other or get sand out of their toes when they washed each other's feet in Jesus' day?" And I never really thought about how all of the interpretations of the bible over the years might have skewed what the original happenings were. Just something to think about. Any one..thoughts on this?

Suzanne,
I have always been amazed how the Bible was written over several years time and several authors with several professions; however, the words and stories are so similar and the pictures painted of the events are almost identical. This is what causes me to believe that it is inspired through the Holy Spirit. There have been different versions over the years, some better than others, but I think the basic ideas can still be found encouraging and helpful. If God can create the universe; He is certainly big enough to contain His thoughts into 66 short books. It's a lot to ponder isn't it? Have a great rest of the summer Suzanne.
