On pg. 167 it states "They've demonstrated it by forcing everyone in the world to do what they do, to live the way they live. Everyone had to be forced to live like they the Takers, because the Takers has the one right way." I couldn't help but think that today some might say you can substitute Americans for They. Think of everything throughout the world that comes from the United States- Disney, McDonalds, Nike. I could go on...

As I was reading about the takers, I did think of Americans but more of the oppresed peoples of the world whom are not free. Think of all the Middle Eastern women who are oppressed. All of the people that fear for their lives if they speak out against their government.
