I have really enjoyed reading this book. I found so much of it interesting. It also left me with a lot of questions. I know this is Delpit perspective. I know that she has others quoted that agree with her but is that the general conscenses? If so then we as teachers have a lot of work to do!
At our school we are trying to find ways to close the gap between whites and blacks. After reading this book it seems at though the American school system may need to be totally revamped. It's like we have to teach two different ways to be affective. Not to mention that other cultures have their way of learning also.
