Today in my freshmen class, a student of mine, who has only shown up twice so far, made the comment that everything about our school is ghetto: the carpet, the desks, ect. etc. etc. Aside from the bathroom stalls lacking doors, and graffiti covering the surfaces in the restrooms, the school really doesn't look that bad. Yes, it's old, but well-cared for. In fact, the outside just got a $77,000 paint job! So, I told him about the schools we had read about: the raw sewage, etc. He stopped complaining!
