Post subject:  Talking about issues!

There is a book that one of my methods teachers recommended for my class to read and it is called "The Geranium on the Window Sill Just Died, but Teacher You Went Right On." It is about an elementary classroom that held students down by not letting their ideas and creativity be part of school. It discussed how the teacher should be openminded and allow students to actually be part of the class, instead of them sitting there and listening. This relates to what we have been talking about because like for 9/11 for us, some teachers decided to discuss it, while others simply ignored the fact. So for these students in the class, everyone knew that the plant in the window died, but the teacher decided to ignore it and continue on with the day. How does that relate to you and your schooling?
