Some see it half full and others half empty. How will our leadership change and impact others if we were to act on the belief that it is "the generoisty of spirit which assumes the best, not the worst, of the stranger (Test, 154)."
How do we overcome racism? Believe the best in the stranger.
How do we get the difficult student to do his best? Believe the best about him and draw it out of him.
How do we work with those who disappoint us? What if we were to believe the best about them and act on it?
I like this "generosity of spirit." I hope I never forget this grand philosophy. May I ask you to hold me accountable?

I've seen lots of "good" teachers who would never treat a poor, dirty child the same as an affluent child. Its also amazing at how many ways these people can justify their behavior.
