This is a exhibit avialable for "Minority Milestones" at the Orange County Historical Museum. This is a interesting article on segration in NC. http://www.heraldsun.com/orange/10-817823.cfm

It show the one step foward and two steps back in segration issues in schools especially in NC.

NC never really fully embraced desegregation. I know it was court ordered in Swann vs Mecklinburg, but hearts and minds have never really been changed. Perhaps that's what it will take.
