So, who do you think would make the better principal--Rachel, Leah, Ada, or Orliana?

After our discussion tonight I think I would choose Ruth May because of her accepting nature. She had the advantage of innocence when she came to the Congo. She didn't judge the Congolese, she helped them to connect with her sisters. She just let them be. As a principal, I hope I have the ability to accept others without judging them.

Post subject:  Better Principle or Principal

I am not sure but I believe that out of all the women based on the principle of the matter, you could not separate them. I believe that all of the women had qualities that we would need to have to be suffiecient as a Principal. I am not sure that Orleanna's grace or "going through no matter what attitude" at the beginning of the novel is not a necessity. I am not sure if Leah's undying faith in her father and his cause is not a needed quality. Are we not sure that we would not need Ada's inner strength even when folks think we are not making the right choices or are not capable of making them? Is Ruth Mays' noncritical eye not also needed? This is a hard one to separate. I would hope that I would have some of all of their qualities.
