Post subject:  Religion in the Classroom

It being close to the holidays for most people, I thought of a situation. What would you do if (and we all probably will) have students of different faith in a classroom and the issue of religion comes up in the classroom and your students want to debate about it? This could happen in any grade level, but I want to target middle grades because that is my area. The big problem to me seems to be the lack of knowledge of the students about their own faith. In many debates held by our youth, facts get mixed in with opinion / fiction. Would you allow this to happen, or move on? Keep in mind many teachers use the last week of the fall semester to do fun, holiday-theme activities.
