Post subject:  Cultures in the classroom

I am a B-K major and in some of my classes, we talked about different cultures and how they respond in classrooms. All cultures have different beliefs and mannerisms. Due to the fact that they are so different, the all act different in the classroom. I believe that it is important to accept their culture in the classroom, respect it, and help them to educate others about their culture. When you don't accept it, it could cause the children to have a low self esteem or feel like they aren't accepted in the classroom, which could cause them to do poorly.

What does everyone else think?

All people are unique and to look at cultural differences and not individual ones is a disservice to the students. Eventually we have to stop generalization and categorizing people to achieve equality. I am going to do it now instead of later.
