I was really surprised that I was the only student in our class who stood up for the "City over 500,000" during our activity last Thursday. It roused my curiosity about high school experiences different from my own.

If you know the info, what was the difference between your freshman class and your senior class in high school? I know no one remembers this stuff but just round numbers if you have them.

East Mecklenburg (Charlotte)
Freshman Class-750
Senior Class-320

I graduated from a 2AA school with 230 people I think, and our freshman class was close to 290 I think. Maggie do you know for sure?

I graduated from a brand new school in wilmington (Ashley High), so the numbers are funny... however I think it was something like 250 seniors and 750 freshman. I came from my school's first graduating class and we already exceeded the capacity the school was built for 2 years after it was built. I have actually lived in larger cities before, but don't consider to be "from" them. How was witnessing the explosion of Charlotte firsthand?

I graduated from Rock Hill High. My Freshman class was around 730ish we graduated with about 415. RHHS is like the 5th largest high school in the state of South Carolina. It was pretty rediculous now that I think about how many kids went to the school. Classes were 30+ unless you did honors, AP, or IB.

I attended Avery High for 9th and 10th (2A) I think less than 1000 students were there at the time. 11th and 12th in Durham at another 2A school with about 250 students in each class - In a school with 500 students it was easy to get to know most everyone there. . . I can't imagine going to a 4A school in a large city.

I also came from CMS...Butler High. We started with over 1000 people in my freshmen class and graduated with 450ish. The difference is I technically live in Matthews outside Charlotte so I didn't count towards being from a big city. My school was built to small from day one. It was meant for 1500 students there are now over 2500 students and they just built a new building, (the school is only ten years old).
