The other day some friends and I were discussing bulldogs, apparently a regular dog can make 100 or so different facial expressions whereas a bulldog can only make 10 so other dogs are much more apt to think a bulldog is pissed off and wants to fight. So because of this bulldogs get in a lot more fights than other dogs.
Basically I just thought that was a goofy story and wanted to share it, I’ve been trying and to think of a way to relate to our futures in teaching and basically came up with the idea that, we as a people misinterpret other people’s cultural norms as signs of hostility or affection and so I guess I need to be more aware of the diversity of cultural traditions.
