I know we wrapped up our discussion on race, but I was looking up information about Faith Ringgold(who is speaking on campus on Wednesday ) and I saw this link on her site.

It is a compilation of surveys asking people who they are and how would they feel if they woke up and were a different race. She has put all the answers together in a spread sheet format. It is pretty cool. You can fill out the survey and also look at other people's answers. It's all anonymous though.

Just thought I'd throw it out there and see what other people thought.

When I was answering the questionnaire, I had a little bit of trouble trying to imagine myself as being a different race; I think this is partly because my life has been so blessed. I have not had to really wish I was some other gender or race. I found myself putting down “I don’t know" for a lot of the questions, mostly because I had honestly never had to answer or even think about these types of questions before.

When I read the responses, I mostly read the responses of colored women "who had woken up white." I thought it was very eye opening to see their opinion of white males and females. They truly see our race as having a better life, more respect, and opportunities. I think this would be a great site for people to visit, and to learn how the world sees their race, and to help them get insight into to how they see others.
