I dont know if you all have ever seen this. You may have, but it is something that "sustains" me. As teachers we will have bad days, without question. We will have to make it through those days somehow. This beautiful man is Jim Valvano. He was the head coach for NC State basketball for many years before he died of cancer. His words in this speech, one of the best ever, are something to live by, and useful for us as teachers. "There are 3 things we all should do each day......you should laugh every day, number 2 is think, you should spend some time in thought, and number 3 is you should have your emotions moved to tears....could be happiness or joy, but think about it, if you laugh, you think and you cry, thats a full day, thats a heck of a day...you do that 7 days a week, youre going to have something special". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuoVM9nm ... re=related |
