After being asked this question in class, I thought about it some more. I still think that Dr. King would not have agreed to the idea, but he would have fought with them to at least have equal rights. He was a religious man, so I'm assuming that he would have had the mind set that "God made everyone perfect."

I can't remember who said this but it went something like---"I do not agree with what you're saying, but I will fight with you for you to have the right to say it"

This quote is not word for word, but I think Dr. King would have agreed with it for the subject of transgenders

I agree. As a Christian man, I don't think Dr. King would have agreed with people calling themselves transgender, but I think he would have tried to love them and would have definitely wanted them to have rights. I have many friends who live their lives in ways I don't agree with, but I don't see them as less of a person. I still think they should be able to live equally with everyone else and have the same rights that we all do.

I agree. I think that as an activists Dr King would support the rights for transgendered people. I'm not entirely sure that as a southern christian he would agree with the idea completely, but I don't think that he would have helped to further their oppression. He wanted equalitiy for ALL.
