These videos we've been watching and the discussions we have been having have all been centered around the fact that transgendered individuals are "different" or "out there." But my question is, is being transgendered a negative thing? And why do we treat them like such? They had no control over their human sexuality just as much as a female chose to be female, or a male chose to be male. God just simply made them this way. I cant believe the way people were treating this individuals on the video we watched in class. Whats our world comming to?

I really agree with you on this topic. People automatically view other people negatively if they are different than they are. I think that our society has come a long way but still has a long way to go. We don't have the right to judge others, we should appreciate everyone for whatever they bring to the table.

It is sad that people are treated badly because they are "different." It's good that we are talking about these issues though. You know that there will be students going through similar or the same situation in your class or school. And unfortunately that student will encounter hate or discrimination, but I'm hoping that as a teacher I can provide that student a safe, supportive environment. And hopefully I can help all my students to understand that everyone deserves respect no matter who they are, or what makes them "different."
