How would you handle a student who writes in their journal that they are struggling with homosexuality? What would you say to them? I personally have no idea how I would confront this situation. I disagree with homosexuality but I would not want to shun this student. What kind of advice could one give if they thought the action of homosexuality was wrong?

If a student admitted this to me in his/her journal I wouldn't try to offer them my opinions on how I think it is wrong, I would just let them know that I am always there for them if they need to talk. They are probably dealing with enough problems, they don't need a teacher lecturing them on morals, and how society thinks it is wrong. They need a support system not someone else to judge them.
