So I was just curious what ya'lls view is on sending students to the principals office. Dr. Turner said she pretty much never did and I have been in classrooms where thats all the teacher does. Is it effective? When should you do it? I personally don't think I will that much, but I think there is sometimes when you just need to. I think some teachers abuse it and just send kids there so they don't have to deal with them.

I can't really decided. I feel like sometimes in order to continue teaching the other students and keep up with the day's lessons you'll have to have someone else take care of certain situations. But I don't think its right to just send someone to the office because you don't feel like dealing with him or her. If you have tried several times to fix the problem or get control of the student and it is not working, I think the only thing you can do is to have an authority figure try also. This might be the only fair thing for the other behaved students. I don't think I'll do it except for in extreme cases, however. Taking control of a classroom and setting rules is one of the most important things you can do from day one.
