Post subject:  PTMA Meetings

This semester I have had the opportunity to go attend three different PTMA meetings (Potential Teachers of High School Mathematics).
The meetings have encouraged a large crowd of college students from all grade levels. Each of them focused on a specific topic: Family Math, K-12 Cirriculum, and Fire Safety. I found them insightful and unique; however, they catered mostly to lower grades education. I find that has happened many times during my years of schooling, lots of emphasis on K-6. It has helped me develop a real appreciation for the impact Elementary Educators are going to have on my job as a High School teacher. Although, sometimes in these seminars I feel like the strategies presented to me are irrelevant, the more I think about it, it would be to my advantage to incorporate basic techniques I learn from the Elementary level into the Secondary level.
