This book is not my favorite. I am not an avid reader, and science fiction is not at all on my top ten lists, but I am trying to read and discover the major themes in the book related to teaching.

Yes, I am not really big into the Science Fiction catagory either but I like how the book is an easy read. I'll take it any day over Dickens!! :D

I also, normally would not choose Science Fiction, but am trying to pull out the connections to the classroom we can make. I think this book teaches children about leadership, creative ways for problem solving, how to confront opposition, the importance of friendship, etc.

I think this book has a great correlation with our AIG population. It parallels with all of the expectations we have for our AIG students. I thought it was a great book, and I enjoyed the story.

This book was not my favorite book (then again, reading is my least favorite thing to do too!)
I think that the story of Ender's education was very interesting. I feel like the Battle School viewed Ender as a tool to help them fight against the buggers. Outside people were always watching and controlling situations in Ender's life. I think he had a lot of internal conflicts. I don't think he had full control or choice in his young life, and he was forced to face a harsh situations at such an early age.

For me, it was hard making myself read the book. I am NOT a fan of science fiction. I have never read a science fiction book or watched a science fiction movie. However, I have tried to read with an open mind and look for the themes of the story.
