After reading and discussing the Poison Wood Bible and learning about how Nathan was, do you view yourself as being like him or not like him?

Tosha, I don't think that I am like him, however I do believe that our school systems are much like Nathan. They think or believe that they are doing what is best for the children in our schools, when actually what they are doing is sometimes selfish to make themselves look better and in the end the children are the ones that suffer.

I am definitely not a Nathan Price. I consider myself extremly flexible and adaptable. I believe the older I get the more flexible and open-minded I become. Now, there are some beliefs that I have that I refuse to waiver on, but would always be respectful of those who believe differently and would never be pushy with my opinions. I believe for me, unlike Nathan Price, sharing my faith (which is important to me) can only happen when I have established a relationship with someone. Beating someone down and then trying to bring them to Christ will never work. Maybe Nathan could learn something from me?

I don't think I am like Nathan, because when I plan for my students I try to do what is best for them. If we are only in this profession for the glory, then we made a bad decision in careers.
