What Barbara said was not appropriate. I agree with that. However I do believe that if she had a reason for saying "something" about the president and she had a point to go with it that was reflected in her speech, then I think it would have been okay to speak her mind at convocation. I personally think that the time and place can be accounted for in any type of conversation, and you should be able to criticize anyone you have an opinion about if you do it in the right way and manner. I also belive there is a difference between critique and criticize. I think of criticize meaning that you are saying something about a topic that you think "someone" should change. Critique is when you do it yourself, and actually take ahold of the problem with what "you" would do. But thats just my opinion.
