Does anybody remember taking the ACT as an alternative to the SAT. Someone recommended this to me and I did this. I went to a public university after taking both tests distinctly remember preferring it to the SAT. I can't remember much why, but I think there was more reading and basic math as opposed to analogies, abstracts, etc......

I wonder if this test is accepted by most institutions today, including the Ivy League Colleges?

Prior to entering college I was required to take the SAT. I was unaware of the ACT until a few years ago when I was helping my cousin prepare for college. She had taken the SAT and did not do well on it. Her guidance counselor instructed her to take the ACT, because it was thought to be "easier" than the SAT. She took it and did do better on it. I do not know wheter it was "easier" but she said she prefered it over the SAT.
