(Columbia, S.C.)--Historically black colleges are the stops on the campaign trail. As Democrats look for the support from minorities, who could make up a majority in the State's first -in -the-South Feb.3 primary, they see SouthCarolina's historically black colleges as a prime campaign stop. Since just two of the candidates are black. It is suggested that it makes it more important for the other (Democrats) of the field to meet with students. "Many of them (Democrats) do not have a pulse on the African-American community, so for them to hear from this age group of Americans is a wonderful opportunity for them. Why not go to the college campuses ?? Promise them (students) jobs in return for votes. Whatever works; Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
