North Carolina leaders have done a good job increasing children's access to health care but underfund efforts to curb child abuse, according to a report released by child-advocacy groups. "Child abuse and neglect continues to be an epidemic, access to dental care for children in Medicaid is very poor, and more and more of our children are overweight.----As for the child abuse, some parents might overeact when some children, at the end of a school day, go home full of greasy fried foods--pizza, tartar tos, french fries, chips, and twelve ounce sodas. I can attribute some of the behavior after lunch---to the diet. -----and as for the being overweight---why isn't some of the monies spent on research, redirected to provide our youth with better diets. The people that do the research surely don't eat pizza everyday.............
