I have a question for you, now that the year is winding down and we are moving closer to the EOG's. Which are you doing - mostly reviewing for the EOG's or continuing with the regular curriculum and schedule? We have broken down into mostly total review and prep mode at my school.
Just curious, please reply.

Other than fractions and wrapping up a few projects for our third grade--we are mostly doing review. Blast-off, ughh.

We are teaching and reviewing. Lots and lots of review with a few new things that I haven't had time to teach yet. I know my kids are already getting tired but I have to get it covered. Forget the Science and Social Studies at this point.

We are strictly prepping for the EOG's.

I am still trying to stuff as much as I can into their heads. I gave them their pep talk today. Didn't do a lot of good.

Rhonda,
I'm teaching second grade this year, but grades 3-5 at my school are focused on test-prep. Teachers say it's ridiculous, and they are bored - so you can imagine how the poor students feel.

I'm doing mostly review now as well. There's still a few things to cover in math, but that's all. My principal wants to observe me sometime soon. She's not going to see much except reviewing and getting ready for the tests.

In Our fourth grade we are mostly reviewing, practicing and hammering it home for EOGs. I hate it. I'm bored too and I feel sorry for the students. What a beautiful season of the year when we could be exploring so many other things.--- I do continue to use novels, because I love shring the stories and I find ways to reinforce the EOG skills through them. That's probably how I keep my sanity.

At my school we are wrapping up our main projects. We are revewing and preping for the EOG's. We are having lots of programs and performances in the afternoons so we feel like we are getting breaks.

We are doing the testlets from DPI and reviewing for the EOG's.
I keep telling the children that everyone gets better with practice. I hate that education has come down to practice instead of learning.
