Okay, EOGs have been a topic in nearly all of my education classes. Every professor and future teacher seems to agree that these tests are a waste of time and only hurt the school system. I haven't really heard anything good about them. So, my question is, what can we do about them? Is there anyone we should contact or anything we can do to try to get rid of the EOGs? Or are they just here to stay?

There have been systems that ask the parents to not send their kids to school on the day of testing and in one school system 85% of the kids didn't show up so they had to throw the tests out. However, I believe that this state had a Teacher's Union and NC does not. We as future teachers need to work towards becoming unionized. I think that this would allow us more power. However, No Child Left Behind legislation make testing federal law.
